This is another custom MAB scandi grind style hunting knife made from a high carbon steel (old nicholson USA file) by me, Mark Buzzell (MAB), right here in Maine. I annealed, ground then heat treated this one all right here in the shop. This little hunter is 6-7/8 inches overall with a 2-5/8 inch blade just over 1/8 thick, 3/4 inch wide with a 58 to 59 rockwell hardness. The blade has been hand sanded to 2000 grit and then polished to a mirror finish. I left some of the file groves on to give it some character. The handles are made from some very nice high grade stabilized snake wood with custom copper pins, this handle shape fits perfect in your hand, the shape makes it fit nice and snug, this little hunter built rugged so it will hold up when you're using it in the field. I also hand filed the top of the knife blade with my 'thorn' pattern, and the handle in my 'double wave' pattern. All my file work is done by hand with a chainsaw file and a small triangle file, (not with a dremel like some builders call file worked) Tje knife is stamped with my MAB logo as the maker of this fine knife. So as you can see i put a lot of time into each one of my custom knives when it comes to fit and finnish, guaranteeing it will hold up in the field or become a collectors piece, either way it will be a knife your proud to show off. Your knife will come with the custom brown leather sheath made by Carl Thomas of Mississippi to fit your knife nice and snug, knife will also ship with a zip up knife case for storing your custom knife when it's not in use. All my custom knives come with a hand signed COA telling more about the knife, when it was made time spent and so on.
