This custom MAB Damscus hunting knife is made by me Mark Buzzell right here in Carmel Maine. This great looking knife is 5-3/4″ inches overall with a 2-3/4″ inch by 1/8″ inch thick and 7/8″ inch wide, The damscus billet used was a 200 fold random wave pattern , Knife blade is stamped with my MAB logo as the maker as well. The knife billet was shaped, Ground, Polished, Oil quenched hardened and tempered to a Rockwell hardness of 58. It was then given an acid bath to help bring out the Damascus pattern and gun blued to help show it off. The handle on this one is made from stabilized green dyded fossil coral found in oceans around the world. This type of coral will date from approx 15,000 to 30,000 years old. The snow flake pattern is a rare pattern in fossil coral and this one has a great now flake pattern that comes to life in the sun or shade. The knife handle has a very nice fit for a smaller handle, The finger groves seem to help it fit nice and snug. The knife guard and spacers were all made from flat bar and sheet stock and shaped by hand to your knife. The knife has also been hand sanded from 220 grit to 2,000 grit for a glass look on the handle. I also hand filed the top of the blade in my “Sharp Thorn” patternI custom file worked the top of the blade in my “Walking Lizard” pattern for the extra look. All my file work is done by hand with a round file and a half round file, Not with a dremel like some knife builders do and call file worked. so as you can see I put a lot of time into every one of my knives from fit and finish, To file work, So each knife can be used in the field or saved as a collectors piece for years to come. Your knife’s custom sheath was made by Carl Thomas of mississippi.
